Searching for Andrew Christian, b. 1820 and baptised in Wicklow Ireland.  Married Catherine Walsh.  Immigrated to New York around 1849, with their children coming soon after, but not Catherine.  Records show marriage to Abby Dunlay, having children, one named William Andrew Christisn, b 1860 in New York.  1855 census shows an Andrew Christian, Age 20, listed as cousin, living with them.  5 years later, census shows an Andrew Chrustian m. Martha Nealy, living next door, also with a son, Andrew Christisn, born 1860.  This Andrew is my maternal ggg grandfather.  Trying to connect these Christians if the sane name, as potential relatives and more of my ancestors. Brick wall!

  • Andrew Christian and Catherine Walsh married in Rathdrum RC parish Co. Wicklow on January 21 1841. There were four baptismal records for children as shown below. In all records mother was just shown as Catherine, Family lived in Rathdrum. All records were found on the subscription site Roots Ireland

    Catherine January 22 1845

    James August 18 1847

    Mary February 1 1849

    Rathdrum RC parish does not have death records and civil registration did not begin until 1864

    I did not find an Andrew Christian baptismal record anywhere in Ireland around 1835. Maybe he was born in the USA.

  • The 1849 manifest shows Cath Christian, age 24, and infant Cath Christian. I did not see John, but may have overlooked him.
