Hi Mary,
www.rootsireland.ie/ has a record of a baptism of John Cooney in 1829 in Wicklow. It is the only record 1819-1839. The parish of registration was Eniskerry.
There are 9 records of John Mills born in the same time period.
There is a record of the marriage of Joseph and Margaret. It would have Joseph and Margaret's mothers' names and you could go back a bit further. Records on rootsireland cost but are cheaper than the GRO and are immediately accessible once you pay.
the Tithe Applotments which are freely available to search has 13 Mills in Wicklow 1824-1832 and 3 Cooneys (all Ferdinands) 1832-33.
Griffiths Valuation (1852-53 also free) has 9 Cooneys and 9 Mills.

Hi Col, yes I have the details of Margaret and Josephs wedding but it only gives the name of the two fathers on it. I have already approached the parish priest at this Church in Ashford but he does not reply to any messages I send. I thought I would have got the mothers names on their books.anyway thanks for the information you gave me,I will try and get further with John Coooney's baptism at Enniskerry that might give me his parents names. living in Scotland its not easy ,I did make the journey a couple of years ago to Wicklow and saw the churches were both my great grandparents were married which was lovely. the parish priest and his secretary in Kilquade was very helpful and lovely people, as was the quaint little church I was so happy to meet them and see it. I hope to travel back maybe next year with more information, thanks again, Mary
