You generally get much more information from the civil certificate than you do from the RC parish records (which often just have the 2 names and their 2 witnesses).
This marriage was registered in Rathdrum 1875 Volume 12, page 812. You can order a photocopy from GRO Roscommon for ?4 per certificate. Put the place, year, quarter (where there is one), volume & page number on the application form (anywhere). http://www.groireland.ie/ You have to post or fax the form to them but they will e-mail the copy certificate to you if you wish. Put ?please e-mail to?..? clearly on the top of the form.

Mary:
Below is the civil marriage index record. You can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie to get a copy of the record for around 4 euros. The marriage record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where they lived in 1875. Fill out the GRO form and provide the info from the marriage index record.

thanks Roger, i had got mixed up with both sets of great grandparents coming from same area. should be christopher mullen married sarah bradshaw in Kilquade RC Church, which I have the details. Christopher lived in Lad lane Dublin but was from Wicklow. and Sarah was from Delgany . it only gives me their fathers name , the other greatgrandparents were Joseph Mills and Margaret Cooney.married in Ashford RC Church. also 1875 both from glenealy it only gives their ages as full ?? so I dont know when they were born. i tried th pp of ashford but he did not reply to my emails to see if he had further details . I have done a lot of research myself when I can get over to Dublin, the offices in lower abbey st(I forget the name of the building) are a great source if you have dates. and not expensive for copies. I live in Scotland so its not always easy to get over. thanks Mary
