I'm looking for my 3rd greatgrandfather Charles McGee/Magee.His wife is Margaret (Clement)they were I'm sure married in Ireland and they had 5 boys, William b., 1814, Edward 1819, John 1821, and twins Daniel and Robert 1826. Records state all born in Armagh and they immigrated in 1828 to Canada and had 4 more daughters.I don't know the parish.

Charles's first born son was named William so if they followed the naming pattern of the Irish( which I have found many of Charles's sons did exactly that) Charles's father would be named William. I do believe Margaret's father would be Robert.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Have you already had a look at familysearch.org or rootsireland.ie (a subscription site) for information about Charles and Margaret?

There is a James McGee in the Tithe Applotment Books (1823 - 1837) but there would be no way ok knowing if James is related to your McGee family. As the family emigrated early and as your search is quite early, it may be the case that Charles and Margaret were born and married in a parish and at a time that predates the parish records.

Let us know if you find anything new. Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?

    Best wishes
