My husband is the grandson of Patrick Ferrick who immigrated to the USA before 1900, from what he called an IRISH FREE STATE , possibly with his mother (name unknown). Patrick was a bricklayer in Boston, Massachsetts, USA. He died about 1910 in a construction accident.
Patrick's wife, Josephine Reilley, was not able to hold the family together and the older boys were sent to an orphanage in Maine. They ran away and were reunited, except for one child. The youngest was John Ferrick and may have been sent on an "Orphan Train" to be adopted by a farming family in the midwest USA and do farm labor.

My husband's father, Richard Henry Ferrick, was the baby of the family and was raised by his maternal aunts in Rhode Island, USA. He was so little that he never remembered his father or anything about him.

We are searching for PATRICK FERRICK or PATRICK FEERICK (may have been named John Patrick) of Ireland who left, possibly as a child or teenager, for the United States. We would like to have contact with descendants of the family or to know the family history.

Thank you -

Richard Henry Ferrick
