I am looking for more background information specifically on my Paternal 4th Gt Grandfather and Grandmother who were from the Muckno region.
James McCreery baptised 01 June at Castleblaney and
Catherine Little (unknown origin)
I have a record of their marriage from Ancestry.com
Married 22 May 1814, Castleblaney, Monahan,Ireland - Parish of Muckno
they had 4 sons
James, John, Joshua and Robert
Robert (my 3rd gt grandfather) was part of the Irish Constabularly from 1858 till he immigrated to Australia in 1863 on the "Western Ocean"
I have no record of the other brothers.
I believe the spelling of the McCreery/McCreedy name was changed at some point to Macreadie but not certain exactly when or why.
Any small piece of information would be greatly appreciated.

My grandparents were from the Castleblayney area and I have done quite a bit of rooting round in that area.Can you give me some idea of the possible timespan of births of their sons and I'll see if I can find any more info for you.

James McCreery (Snr)- Born 1794 in County Down, Ireland
Married Catherine Little (born 1795) - 22 May 1814 in Castleblaney
Sons
James McCreery - no birth date given, presumed first born as he was named after his father.
John McCreery - Born 1818 Langfield, Castleblaney
Joshua McCreery - Born 1827 presumably in Castleblaney
Robert McCreedy (my direct ancestor - not certain why the change of name) - Born 1837 in Castleblaney. Emmigrated to Australia 1863 on the "Western Ocean" Under new name. Died 1927 in Australia.
