Greetings from New Zealand
I have had the great good fortune to have previously visited your beautiful city of Galway on three occasions and loved my time in Ireland.
I have a great interest in finding out about my family roots in your area.My family originally came from Anaghdown. My great grandfather,Patrick Forde, left Anaghdown in 1861 and sailed to a new life in New Zealand. He never returned to Ireland and so our family connection was severed then . In the past fifteen years I have worked to connect again with our Irish relatives, have visited them in Galway and have written a family history.
One of my great grandfather's sisters ,Sabina Forde, married a Philip Reddington. I understand that their son ,James Reddington was mayor of your lovely city in 1960. He was aged 88 at the time so was obviously a remarkable personality.I would love to contact any of his family to find out more about their/our family. In particular I am interested in Sabina Forde, her siblings and, especially, her parents. In return I have much to share with about the Forde relatives who sailed to New Zealand in 1861.
If you could help me make contact with any member of the Forde and/or Reddington families I would be extremely grateful. It might help fill in many of the missing links in our shared family history
Many thanks and kind regards

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out! Have you learned any more about the above?
