Hello, I'm seeking documentation on information submitted to LDS Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, of my supposed ancestor Kuras Tully (b. September 1500 of father Lollan Tully) and his wife Sheela O'Kelly (b. 1552 of father Thomas O'Kelly) and both reported to be buried in Clonfert, Galway, Ireland. Said record also includes their descendants Matthew Tully, father of Thomas Tull, father of Richard Tull (b. ca. 1644 in England; d. 1711 in Maryland, U.S.A.

I hope that the information that I forwarded is helpful to you in your quest to authenticate the material that you have on Kyvas Tully. As I stated we have no burial records for Clonfert graveyard and even if we had they certainly would not date back to the 17th century. However, Kyvas Tully is well documented historically and the material that I sent you from the hand of the late Dr K.P. Egan is from a very reliable source. It should I hope lead you to other material. If in the mean time I find anything more of interest to your research I will happlily send it on. There are still Tully families in the Ballinasloe area. I am researching John Tully, of Co. Cavan, who resided in New Orleans. Orleans Parish, Louisiana and St. Louis, Missouri between 1860 and 1906. In my search for records for this man, I have come across census records and city directory records for a Kivas Tully/Tulley, who was an architect living in St. Louis, Missouri. The first entry in the city directory that I have found for him was in 1879. He is consistently listed through 1915. Apparently, he died in 1915 since the 1916 directory lists "Mary, wid of Kivas." The 1910 US census record for St. Louis, Missouri states that he was 58, was born in Canada (English); his father was born in Ireland (English) and his mother was born in Canada (English). He immigrated in 1864 and was a naturalized citizen, married 20 years to 57 year-old Mary, with one child, James K., who was born in Missouri and was 17 in 1910i.
When I came across the entries for Kivas Tully, I thought the given name was quite unusual. I was surprised to see another man with the same name and am forwarding this information in the event that there might be some connection between Kivas Tully/Tulley in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Kyvas Tully mentioned above.
