I am searching for the origins of my Irish grandmother. The oldest known in her line is as follows

Timothy Sullivan b.18-Sep-1812 somewhere in Ireland.

He married before arriving in Canada perhaps c1844-5.

His spouse was Margaret O'Sullivan b. 18-Mar-1813 somewhere in Ireland.

All known children of this couple were born in New Brunswick, Canada beginning in January of 1846.

I have no evidence of a previous wife or children, but age at the time of their 1st born child (both in their 30s) suggests both could have prior marriages.

It appears they immigranted about 1845.

There is a suggestion (but no actual documentation found to date) they may have come from Cork Co.

  • Hi

Please post as much information as you can regarding the people you are researching. Include their emigration details - if you have them. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
