Looking for birthplace of Robert Heggart/Heghart

My family are protestant and to the best of my knowledge all the Hegarty's with a Y are RC.

Kilshannig is about 3 miles from Mallow and there are Heggart headstones there.

I link to these Heggarts and also to all the canadian Heggarts through the Robert Heggart for whom I am looking. This was proved througha 42 marker DNA test with 100 percent match but we have not been able to trace the actual connection

Robert Heggart and Catherine Checkley are my great greats and they ended up in Canada.  I will share what I have. How are you related?

Nice to hear from you as its been quite a while since I've had any replies.

I live in Australia but can trace my family back to Kilshannig near Mallow in Co Cork to a William Heggat b1747 and married to Jane. Their son Robert Heggart b1773 married Elizabeth Ring in 1797 and so on down to me.

The deconsecrated chuch of St Seanagh at Kilshannig has 4 Heggart headstones and the inscriptions were recently put online by a group.

I have tracked Heggarts to Australia and Canada where Robert Heggart and Catherine Checkley first appear and are the forebears of all the Canadian Heggarts and possibly any US Heggarts. A DNA test showed that I am related to the Canadian Heggarts but we have not found Robert Heggart or Catherine Checkley in any records in Ireland and have no details of how they arrived in Canada.

I believe we may be distantly (?) related.  My mother was born a Heggart.  We too, are descendant from Robert Heggart and Elizabeth Ring, through their son, William, who married Elizabeth Ludgate.  I was born and raised in Melbourne but live in Japan.  I'd love to know more about the Heggart family and am happy to share what little I have!

I forgot to mention that I recently 'met' my mother's cousin who has also been researching the Heggart family.  He met several members of the Canadian side of the family when they visited him in Melbourne several years ago. He might have information on Robert.

I assume your cousin is Ian Heggart and we have collaborated on family history for some time.

Unfortunately neither he nor the Canadians have any info on the origins of Robert Heggart.
