I just joined this group and saw your question.  It's been hanging for a number of years, and you likely have discovered many things, but I am familiar with Archie & Margaret (A&M) through my research into a different cluster of McFalls.  From what I've seen in many places, A&M came to Canada about 30 years earlier than your estimate, and settled in Chatham, QC.

The McFall's I've researched settled in Pendleton, ON, about 40 miles away as the crow flies.  Many people (and numerous trees posted in various sites) accidentally conflate the two families because of the proximity and similar given names (like Archie, James, John, Margaret, Catherine, etc.), but despite the overt similarities, they are two distinct families.  Perhaps 40 or 50 years ago, my mother-in-law met with descendants of both families, but could find no knowledge linking the two.  Likewise, I have not found hard evidence of any links, but based on use of the same names (especially Archie) I believe they likely share an ancestor one or two generations before Archie.

It also has a lot of conflicting claims, and I believe any references to Prescott County, ON should be ignored (though Archie is buried near Perth, ON - he died while visiting his son, who had moved there).
