    Do you have any other information that you can share? Do you have first names, occupations, important dates regarding the people you are researching? Did they emigrate? Do you know anything about their emigration? Do you know of any other parishes, apart from Cliftden thatthey came from? Do you know their religious denomination?

     

     

    Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

  • Patrick Dowd - Clifden, Galway

     

    Jan 1836 - 21 Jun 1923 (Lived at one time at the corner of

    Opeongo and Sadler streets in Renfrew, ON for 48 years).  First son is Patrick

     

    Father - James O’Dowd (to be confirmed)

    Mother - Catherine Davis

    NOTE: in Patrick’s death certificate: Father is Patrick Dowd

    and the Mother is Catherine Davis. He came with his

    family to Canada in 1885. 1911 Census Patrick

    emigrated in 1881. His Obit states 1882.

    Married 22 Dec 1861 in St Joseph’s RC Church, Clifden, Galway.

    c. 1836 - 30 Oct 1904  Parents unknown (otehr that first daughter  is Bridget

    (Wit. at burial: John Robillard and Alexander Boisey)
