Priv. Graham CROZIER . Seapatrick of Banbridge; a weaver; joined the 65th

(2nd Yorkshire North Riding) Regiment of Foot on14 May 1855 & went to New

Zealand to fight in the Maori Wars ;Departed Portsmouth 14 April 1856 and arrived in Auckland, on the

'Lancashire Witch' (1386 tons) 1 Aug 1856 via Hobart, Sydney & Wellington under Capt. A.S. Mollison; 

(Probably joined the army to escape the Irish potato famine)

Discharged from the army in Otahuhu N.Z. 11 Sep 1865 and went farming at Inglewood, Taranaki. He never returned to Ireland.

I would be interested to hear of any Irish relatives...
