Hi P Deady,

John Power is my my great grand father. My father Daniel Kevin Power was aware that two had gone to Australia so it was great to know that.  I am currently doing the family tree for my father. My eamil adress is annppower@gmail.com and I would love to hear more.  I have a information about the baptisims of the children of William Power and Nancy Ann Grogan. Thomas wasn't on the the list he obviously came later.

I have looked at your family tree. I would like to know a bit more about William and Ann and of course yourself.

Below is a brief out line of what I know about Thomas and Daniel.

On the birth registration of Daniel and Thomas, their Mother is listed as Ann, not Nancy Ann. Did she use Ann rather than Nancy. Their father was a labourer.

Thomas was born  24/12/1868 at Monaloo, Kilcronat, Died 8/05/1946 in Brisbane. He arrived in Australia 04/10/1887 in Brisbane age 19 on the Ship Chyebassa. He joined the police force in 05/12/1887 and retired in 01/101918. He had three promotions the last was to Detective Senior Sergeant in 01/07/1912. He did not marry.

Daniel was born 06/06/1873 at Monaloo, Kilcronat, died 06/02/1940 in Brisbane.  He arrived  in Australia 10/1891 age 18 on the ship Ivanhoe. He worked as a barman and joined the police 28/04/1893 he retired in 06/06/1933. He had five promotions the last was Inspector in 1929.

He married Mary Bridget Heery 15/04/1903. They had  four children, Eileen May, Stanley Charles, Francis Daniel and Mary Josephine.

Mary (known as Molly) was my husbands mother. She married Harry Deady and they had three children.

Very interesting to find out this.

This helps me alot as these brothers of John (my Great, Grandfather) and William were not in the 1901 Irish Cencus and I was really wondering why!

I have just realized you posted twice.  Sorry I am not the most tech savey person. Glad my information to Kevin was of use to you. There were two other brothers Patrick who I think died when an infant and Peter. I found a 1901 census recoard for a Peter Power living in Midleton Cork but could not find one for 1911. Do you have any information about him?  Ann thought he was a Hoover salesmen in Cork.
