I should be grateful for any information about  the Howards living  in Eyrecourt in the 1820 to 1840 particularly Amelia Howard born 1821.

  • My notes record a Catherine Horsman married William Howard in 1770.

Also, John Horsman married Anne Howard who was born 1858, Kilmachque and died Fearmore, Eyre Court in 1941. John's father was Edward Horsman, and his mother was Sarah Banko (Banco) of Eyrecourt.

I don't have any further information on the Howards at the time which you mentioned, however, the Howard name is still current at Eyrecourt.  Best of luck in your search.

  • Hello Robert,

The following are extracts from two trade directories that cover Eyrecourt for the general time period that you are interested in. There are several families of Howard still living in the wider parish of Eyrecourt. They are all involved in farming.

Pigot?s Directory of Ireland ? 1824, shows that a Henry Howard was operating a grocers
    shop in Eyrecourt.
    While Slaters Directory for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Ireland ? 1846, now notes a Patrick Howard as a grocer
and stationer in Main St. Eyrecourt.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
