My great grand father immigrated to South Africa from Ireland, My Grandfather's name was Henry Hamilton McLaughlin and was born in South Africa, probably around 1890. I would like to know where in Ireland my ancestors came from.

Without knowing who the parents of Henry were it will be almost impossible to find out where in Ireland they came from.
My advise would be to start in SA and maybe try and obtain a birth cert or death cert of your grandfather, that should have at least his fathers name mentioned. Once we have that we can start the search in Ireland
There is a chance that his mothers last name was Hamilton
