I'm trying to track down some family history and know John O'Shaughnessy came from Kings (Offaly) Co. He was born in 1840 and may have been baptized in Ballyowen (I can't find this Parrish and wonder if it is a typo in the source document and it should have been Ballycowen). His father may have been Christopher. John ended up in New Orleans. Does this ring any bells for anyone? I'm trying to confirm if Christopher is his father and track back from there and also see if there are still any distant cousins still in County Offaly.
