I am looking for a connection to the following:
Parents
Michael Hackett
Bridget Meagher/Maher (circa 1795-1876)
Home:
County: Kilkenney
Parish: Freshford (could be part of Tullaroan after 1843)
Townland: Brittis / Brittes / Brittass
Children
Judith (1814 - 1884) married John Delahunty in 1840
Richard (1816 - ????)
Margaret (1818 - ????) married Patrick McGee
Matthew (1820 - ????)
Mary (1824 - ????) married Michael Kelley
John (1826 – 1891) married Mary Walsh, Catherine Walsh, & Kate Culinane
Michael (1829 – 1925) married Catherine Langay
Patrick (1824 – 1924) married Dora Egan
The mother, Bridget, and some of the children (Margaret, Mary, John, Michael & Patrick) left Ireland in about 1846. The family settled in Michigan. The marriages of the children that accompanied Bridget to the US took place in Michigan. Most of the sons worked for the railroad (probably the Michigan Central Railroad) in various cities along the line that served the route from Detroit to Chicago.
Judith stayed in Ireland and married John Delahunty. John was a shoemaker (according to Judith’s 1884 death record) .
Their children were:
Paul 1840
Mary 1842
Bridget 1845
Michael 1847
Jane 1849
They were living in Clamanto, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny during the early years of their marriage.
Judith and John Delahunty were living in Watergate, Kilkenny, District #1 at the time of her death in 1884.
I have never found a marriage record for Michael Hackett and Bridget Meagher/Maher.
I have no record of the father, Michael, or the other two sons, Richard and Matthew, living in the US.
I do not know if the Richard survived to adulthood.
I have found Matthew as a sponsor at the baptism of Judith’s child, Mary, in 1842.
I do not know if Michael, the father, died in Ireland or elsewhere.
I am seeking connection to the Hackett, Meagher/Maher and Delahunty families, if any remain, in Ireland or elsewhere.

My cousin who is in Ireland recently found records of siblings to our family.
The names and dates that you posted are of much interest to me as they would
tell me who my other cousins are that were separated 163 years ago.
I look forward to corresponding with you.

I have just found the family info you posted here, by searching for "Annie Hackett". On page 5 of your document. She was my great-grandmother! Thanks for all that history.I'd love to share the info I have on her children, etc. She lived in Gisborne, NZ, where I grew up, though I never met her, or my grandmother who both died before I was born.
I hope you are still in touch with this old post.
Cheers
