I am trying to confirm that Frances and Edward Erwin came to Virginia around 1700 and that their ancestors migrated from Scotland to Ireland.

The Irvines were amongst the border families that were targeted after James became King of Scotland and England early 1600. I know about the Graham deportations but nothing about other families. However it cannot be just co-oincidence that most of the border families [Graham/Elliot/Armstrong/Irvine/Noble/Story/Johnston to name a few] are well represented in the Fermanagh Muster Rolls.

If you google 1630 Muster Roll Fermanagh you should be able to find a complete list. However being able to locate and identify the two Irvines you mention is close to impossible. Linking any of the Fermanagh settlers back to UK is something I have struggled with for over 40 years and so far I can only positively identify 2 individuals with a paper trail that links back to the mainland.
In Fermanagh Irving has numerous variations ranging from Urwin/Erwin/Kerwin/Irwin to Irvine
