During the mid 1800's John KANE an overseer to a local estate was working in this area. His wife was Mary (MARROW). They had several children in particular William Peter KANE. He was born 18 Mar 1859. William Peter KANE lost his first wife Marh 1879 subsequently left the area and ended up in New Zealand. His sisters were Onie, Kathleen, Ellen. He was Roman Catholic.

If any one has any information on either William or his parent please contact me.

Please note he may have dropped the O' when coming to NZ we are not sure
