Looking for information about William Duitt (various spellings- DeWitt) and Helen or Ellen Carrigan.He was born c 1825-1830. She was born c1825 and emigrated to Vermont c 1853. They had four children-all born in Vermont.-William, James and John and my great-grandmother Ellen born in Orwell Vt in 1963.
Ellen's parents were Michael Carrigan and Mary Young. Think they may have been from Patrickswell or Adare.
Any suggestions as where to look for birth, marriage, baptismal , cemetery records etc. would be gratefully appreciated.

If Ellen?s parents were from Adare or Patrickswell it is very likely that Ellen got married in one of these parishes as weddings usually took place in the bride?s parish of origin.
Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
