My gr.gr grandparents John Crawford, born abt 1799 in Kings County, and Sarah Bagley, born abut 1801 in Clara, Kings County came to Canada around 1833 with their family: William born 1826, Jane born abt 1827, and Robert, born abt 1831. Family history states that another son, John was born on board ship 1833 coming to Canada. They settled in the Frampton region of Quebec, where they had five more children. They were members of the Church of England in Canada, but I can not find any records about them in Ireland. John's father may also have been John, as his death record of 1888 mentions John, son of John.
Any help with either Crawford or Bagley Irish records would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ron,
Thank you for your message.I hope that someone with information on the family makes a connection with you.
It may be an idea to contact Irish Midlands Ancestry for some assistance. Please note however that a fee may apply. Here is their email address: info@offalyhistory.com
In the meantime, your search will be much easier if you have a more specific place of origin in Offaly. You mentioned Clare in your message. This is a town in the civil parish of Kilbride (Kilcoursey):
You could try looking into church records from the parish. Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
You could also check for record of the families in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
It may also be an idea to look into their emigration more to see if there is any more information there. For information on immigration records in Canada check the National Library and Archives at: http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html
Some other websites that you may find useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
Family Search: www.familysearch.org
Offaly Library: http://www.offaly.ie/eng/Services/Libraries/Local_Studies_And_Archive_Service/
Genealogy links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/offaly/index.html
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
