Looking for the information on Timothy Francis Mahon, born June 10, 1863 to James Mahon and Julia Hogan. He departed Ireland in the 1890s and married Nellie Burke in Louisville, KY in 1892. Timothy had at least two brothers, James and Malachy, who both emigrated to America and lived in Connecticut. Family stories state he had more brothers and at least two sisters, who were twins. Have done multiple searches but unable to verify birth, other family members or date of emigration. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bill. I did try them and they were unable to locate Timothy or his brother Malachy. Looked at my documents again and they are listing Derrygoolin as the actual locale. My understanding is that is in Portumna. Will need to research the Catholic Churches in Derrygoolin and look for the baptism records.,

I am trying to find out ANYTHING about my gtgt grandad,DENIS MAHON,b.c1837/8. His father was JOSEPH MAHON.
Denis m CATHERINE RICE,in 1861,in Ashton in Makerfield.,Lancashire.,England. She died Mar 17th 1868,three days after giving birth to their 4th child.
In Jul of that year,Denis remarried to BRIDGET FARRELL,and they went on to have a further 6 children. Denis died in Tyldesley.,Lancashire in 1877,aged just 39.
Catherine Rices father was called PETER RICE,and a possible sibling of Catherine's is a MICHAEL RICE,who lived in the same house as Denis,in the 1861census,just prior to his marriage to Catherine.
My late dad told me for the past 60 years, that his family comes from Mayo and Dublin....his surviving sister, who is 91 yrs of age, also told me this,so,obviously, someone must have told them?
However, through searching on various Genealogy sites and groups,I made contact with a lady who was researching her husbands tree....he is descended from Denis and Bridget, whereas I'm descended from Denis and Catherine. Now this lady says that it's common knowledge in her hubby's family that Joseph and Denis were from Tuam.,Galway!
I have checked Tuam Baptisms and Marriages, and didn't find one Joseph Mahon and only one Denis, but it wasn't the right one...the one I found stayed in Ireland.
I would dearly love to batter one of my brick walls down!
Is it possible that either Joseph or Denis could be related to your Mahons?

Hi
I think we may have a connection. My great, great grandfather was Timothy Mahon who married a Julia Hogan. I believe some of their kids were Malachy, John and Thomas ( my great, great grandfather). My grandfather Martin Mahon ( son of Thomas Mahon-mentioned above) emigrated to Connecticut and NY. It looks like we have a lot of overlap!!
