LOOKING FOR DUGGAN AND KENNEDY

Unfortunately, it may be difficult to find information without a more specific place of origin. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

I did a search for Daniel and Roger on the National Archives of Ireland Transportation Database. Results came back for both names in 1848, in Limerick for larceny so I assume that these are the brothers:

As the trial took place in Limerick I suggest that you contact Limerick City Archives to see if they can advise you on any possible records that may exist:

You could also try looking in newspaper archives to see if there is any mention of the brothers. It may give a parish of origin. You should contact the Local Studies Department of Limerick Library to see what newspapers they have available:

Once you have a more specific place of origin for the brothers more avenues of research will open up to you.

You mention that your grandmother?s people are from Kildare in Clare. Unfortunately, Kildare and Clare are separate counties. Where did you get this information? Is it possible that the ?Kildare? part was misread? There are alot of parishes in County Clare that begin with ?Kil?, here to a list of parishes:

Hi Maureen,

I've been working on the Duggans but can't find a record to give me Daniel or Roger's ages.

They arrived in Tas in 1850 and were pardonned in 1853-54.

They were tried in Limerick but the records on findmypast have them in prison in Dublin in 1849. (The file is too large to attach).

If you can give me an age and the year of that record I can get a birth year and search on other sites.
