Hello
I have a serious brick wall that I hope you can help me resolve.
I know my great great grandfather Michael Farley was born in Cavan around 1827. Reportedly his widowed Mother Catherine "Ann" Farley brought him to the USA, in 1830s, They settled in Tamaqua Pa.
I do not know what town or parish that they are from nor Michaels fathers name. He may havealso been Michael and born in 1795 or 97.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

I looked at the Tithe Applotment data at the National Archives sitehttp://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie
There were five Farley entries (only four indiviuals) for Co.Cavan. Possible leads?
Surname Forename Townland/Street Parish County Year Farley Pat Billis Annagelliff Cavan 1826 Farley Owen V Phile Drumerave Annagelliff Cavan 1826 Farley Pat Billis Annagelliff Cavan 1826 Farley Peter Utregha And Ramulligan Annagh Cavan 1825 Farley Tho Derrylane Ballintemple Cavan 1828 The Griffiths Valuation of 1856 (after emigration) shows 52 Farleys which you can access at www.askaboutireland.ie or www.rootsireland.ie I also checked for Michael Farley 1827 births +- 5years and there were no records.
