My records say my GGG Grandfather was born in Milltown, County Meath but there is no Milltown Parish and I haven't seen Milltown on a map of old Ireland. I'm looking for birth records and ancestor information. Was it the custom for marriages to be performed in the husband's or wife's parish? I believe they came to the US around 1846-48.

My Great Great Great Grandfather: James Reilly: born 20 June 1804; Milltown, County Meath.

Married to Margaret Tully; born 15 January 1805; Knocktemple, County Cavan.

Great Great Grandfather: James Reilly, born 1 September 1846.
