  • There are 1076 people named Watt in the 1901 Irish census. The majority are in the counties of Ulster though it is found in many other counties too. The majority of them were Presbyterian or Church of Ireland indicating it?s a plantation name. Their ancestors will therefore have come from Scotland or England and settled in Ireland in the 1600s.
