I am trying to find what part of County Tyrone my family was from. I found a cousin to my direct ancestor that was born in Strabane in 1808 but still can not place these 2 families. Just based on that clue I was thinking maybe the West part of County Tyrone.
John Park b: 1759 in Ireland (My 4th Great Grandfather)
married ca 1796 in Ireland Letitia Hamilton
July 1821 Departed Greenock, Scotland on the Camillus to New York, USA
10 Sept 1821 Arrived in New York, USA and traveled on to Beaver county, Pennsylvania where other family from both sides were living and farming.
1823 moved to Hopkinsville, Todd county, Kentucky.
3 June 1837 died in Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky. Buried in Glenwood cemetery.

I did a search in the Flax Growers list. This was part of a government scheme to encourage the linen trade, free spinning wheels or looms were granted to individuals planting a certain area of land with flax. The lists of those entitled to the awards, covering almost 60,000 individuals, were published in 1796, and record only the names of the individuals and the civil parish in which they lived. Here are the Park?s that were recorded in Tyrone, some of which were in the above parishes and/or neighbouring parishes:
