Seeking the marriage record for John LEYDEN and Ann LYNCH. Married 14 May 1859 accordng to my first cousin, Mark Leyden. Also, any info on their children that might have been born in that area.
I know of two children, Martin, and Patrick, that were born in Milltown Malbay, Clare, Ireland. They had at least three others born in Ireland.
Thank you so very much!

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for your message. Civil registration did not begin until 1864 so you will have to look in church records for their marriage record. Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Inagh parish, follow this link:
Also check the Clare Library?s family history page as they have a donated materials section-you never know you may be lucky and find something relevant there:

- Timothy Curtin was a hedge schoolmaster resident of the townland of Drumanure, Mauricemills.
- The townland of Drumanure, Mauricemills was a stronghold for the Barry family in this area.
- The Leydon family stronghold was in the townland of Sileshaun East (adjacent to Garvoghil and Maghera).
(click on my townland links for to explore the resources/ records for each).
