My 2 great grandfather JOHN FITZHENRY, born about 1826, emigrated from Ireland, according to Canadian census records, to Stratford, Perth, Ontario, Canada. He married BRIDGET NOLAN, born about 1831 in Ireland. Their oldest child, Bridget, was born in 1856, in Ireland, so John and Bridget's marriage date should be before then. Their religion was Roman Catholic.
John and Bridget had 6 children:
1. Bridget born 1856 Ireland
2. Catherine born 1859 Ontario
3. Anna born 1860 Ontario
4. Elizabeth born 1861 Ontario
5. James born 1862 Ontario
6. George born 1864 Ontario
John had 2 brothers, JAMES and WILLIAM FITZHENRY, also born in Ireland and emigrating to Ontario. I suspect the brothers' father's name was James because all the brothers named their first son James.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Linda:
The Griffiths Valuation survey for Co. Wexford was published in 1853. Below are the four James Fitzhenrys listed in the survey. I assuming your James was living in 1853 and leased land, he may be one of the four listed below.

Thank you for your speedy reply... fastest I've ever received!
This is my first attempt at finding my Irish family, so I'm a little at a loss on how to proceed. I think I'll try process of elimination. I'm not even sure if Wexford is the right county... just going with highest incidence of the surname.
Thanks again for giving me some hypotheses to check!
