I am trying to trace my family history in Ireland. My great grandfather came to Australia in 1868. Australian Marriage and Death Records show he was born in Graig, Cork around 1844. His father was John Kennedy (farmer) and his mother was Catherine Keys. I have not been sucessful in obtaining any Irish records relating to Arthur or Catherine online.

Dear Michael
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in replying to your message.
As you can see from the link below, Kilworth is Civil Parish in Co Cork:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Kilworth begin in 1829. You say you have done some research online already. Have you tried the link below for records of the Kennedy family in Cork?
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
You could also try searching Ancestry.com for family trees/messages relating to your Kennedy ancestors. Did you manage to find any information in immigration records in Australia? http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/fact-sheets/fs227.aspx
You may find a record on the Tithe Applotment Books 1823-1837 and/or the Griffith?s Valuation 1847-1864. Even though they only name the head of household, all information gather is useful:

Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Best of luck with your search
