    Hi Sandra,

I couldn't find Patrick's baptismal record for 1868 but I found one for a Patrick Mallon, father Patrick Mallon in Haggardstown RC Co Louth in 1865.

I found a Mallon family in the 1901 census (online and searchable) in Killyclessy  Co. Louth.  the ages for father Patrick are correct.

I would suggest that you go to www.rootsireland.ie and look for patrick snr marriage certificate.  Have you any idea of his wife's name?  If you apply to www.groireland.ie for Patrick jr birth certificate it will give the name of his mother.  then you csan trace back to his parents marriage cert.

If you find the marriage cert , hopefully it will give his father's name.

I would advise that you keep a very open mind regarding ages.  Most people had no documentation re birth and never celebrated birthdays.

    kind regards

  • Hey there,
Trying to find some missing pieces like the rest of you... Does anyone have information on John Mallon & Catherine Igo? They left Cookstown, Ireland in 1883, and migrated to New York. Mary Mallon aka (Typhoid Mary) was a daughter to Catherine & John along with John Mallon Jr. Was there other children? The only child listed of Mary`s was Frieda A. Mills. Was she the only child?
My great grandfather was John Mallon Jr. His daughter Darlene is my grandmother. Any helpful info is much appreciated,
    Thank You!
