Dear Bob
There are some sources, like the Annals of the Four Masters for example, that detail the genealogy and activities of the medieval Gaelic Irish nobility. The difficulty for researching family history in the 18th and 19th Centuries comes from our dependence on church parish records prior to 1864. It would be great if the gaps in our records could be bridged but you never know what sources and records will become available in the future.
Best wishes
Clare Doyle
