Seeking any info on Sheehan from Inchigeelagh.
John Sheehan (?-?) and Catherine Kelley (30 Nov 1796, Bantry -?) were the parents of the following children that were baptized between 1823 - 1843.

John Sheehan       24 Jun 1823     Teeranassig
Denis Sheehan        5 Nov 1825    Coolroe
Edward Sheehan   25 Nov 1827    Gorteen
Daniel Sheehan     12 Sep 1830    Teeranassig    (Sheehan transcribed to Sheel)
Timothy Sheehan     9 Jul 1833     Gorteen
Jeremiah Sheehan 17 Jan 1836    Gorteen
Patrick Sheehan      4 Mar 1838    Gorteen

Julia A Sheehan     14 Feb 1841    Haremount
Michael Sheehan   12 Mar 1843    Coolroe

Dennis, Edward, Daniel, Timothy, Jeremiah, Patrick and Julia settled in and around Concord, Massachusetts, USA.  I'm not sure what happened to John and Michael.  The above information is from church records found at http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie

    Have you tried to find out any marriage details on irishgenealogy for the children who remained?

    There are just over 300 John Sheehan entries on the 1901 Census and 144 for Michael. You could reduce this by calculating an approximate years of birth:

  • I believe the Michael Sheehan on the list is my great-grandfather.  My Michael Sheehan joined the British Army, married in Fermoy, Ireland in 1870.  Army years were mostly spent in India where my grandmother was born.  After discharge from the army the family moved to Canada.  Michael died in Manitoba in 1893.

    I've always had a brick wall with him as his marriage certificate names his father as MICHAEL, a Tradesman.  This list of children names the parents as John Sheehan & Catherine Kelley.

    I hired Irish genealogists who found the marriage certificate.  I have wondered if the father's name was transcribed incorrectly from the paper records but don't know where the paper records would be.  The certificate says "Married in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Fermoy".  

    Does anyone know how to confirm the marriage certificate information?
