  • Hi Joey your information is very sparse and the timeframe is rather difficult as you will have to rely on baptism records and given the time frame records from this period may not have survived. More information if you have it may be helpful in your search. Are you sure of the spelling of the surname?

  • Hi Joey

There are some Patrick SINNOTT baptism records on www.irishgenealogy.ie/ which us free and has lots of Dublin records

There are no Sinnett records or 1752 - there are 2 in 1750

www.rootsireland.ie/ (pay site) has 6 records in Dublin but all too late

  • My family name is spelled Sinnett, however the spelling could have changed when Patrick boarded a ship in Dublin and came to American.  He was a "Kings Waiter" according to information that I have found.  I have checked several forums and no one has been able to find who his parents might be.

  • Yes it pays to keep an open mind about it Joey as many spelling variations resulted from illiteracy, mistranscriptions and personal whim. This applies to the recording of year of birth too so you might want to have a look at the ones on www.irishgenealogy.ie/ Patrick is spelt Patricius year is 1850 & it looks like there are several siblings all from St Andre Dublin RC
