Hello my name is Edward McCabe and I am searching for any news of my ancestors in Rathkeale. My great grandfather was William McCabe and his wife was Mary Bunnion. William was in the RIC and he lived in Rathkeale in 1901 and was still there at his death in 1931. I know from a relative in the USA that there are graves in St. Mary's churchyard and I would appreciate any more knowledge that anybody can provide about this family.
Thanks,
Edward McCabe

According to the details they filled in on the 1901 census William was born in Co. Fermanagh, and his wife Mary was born Co. Kerry. The eldest child listed with them on the 1901 census was born Co. Kerry, and the rest Co. Limerick.
Based on that I suspect that their marriage probably took place in Co. Kerry, and if Bridget is their eldest, then sometime around 1883..

their marriage is on the free IrishGenealogy website, and it's a parish which include names of both parents at the time :
Parish : Ballylongford RC (Kerry)
Date : 20 November 1883
Groom : William McCabe / Residence : Ballybunnion
Bride : Mary Bunnion / Residence : Ballylongford
Groom's Parents : John McCabe & Bridget Connolly
Bride's Parents : Maurice Bunnion & Sarah Enright
Witnesses : Corneilius Farrell and William McCabesee : here (you may need to enter a captcha security code to view the record)
There's also a baptism for Mary in 1864 in the same parish

William McCabe was my great great grandfather. I have a picture of him, around 1930, with Greta, Kitty and Ned. Greta and Kitty had moved to New York City and I was told that Ned had moved to Dublin and was in law enforcement. I'd be happy to send you everything I have.
