Looking for help finding family history on my great great grandfather Thomas Wade.  I know very little about his life in Ireland before he immigrated to Ontario, Canada, which may have been around the 1850 time frame.   His death record in Canada states he was born in County Ireland.  He had a younger brother John Wade who immigrated to Canada as well.  They were both farmers in Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada.  Thomas Wade was born around 1834. He was Roman Catholic.

  • Thank you for this, but I know Thomas did not immigrate to Canada in 1871.  I saw that date on the Canadian Record as well and it is incorrect.  He married Eliza McGuire in 1855 in Rice Lake in Ontario, Canada, then had 11 children on his farm. We believe he immigrated to Canada around 1850, but Canada did not keep immigration records for this time period.   I have found him in the 1861, 1871, and 1881 Canadian Census as well as his brother John.

I would be so happy if this were Thomas's birth record and  I have seen this one before.  Really have my doubts, because  he had 11 children and not any girl was named Susan for his mother.

Anything else that may be helpful would appreciate.
