Previously I thought you could only order records from 1922 on but I don't see any year restrictions on the current site. 

If you only want a copy of the record, you can mail a request to the GRO and the cost is around 4 euros.  https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx

You can ask the GRO to e-mail the copy back to you. 

In either situation, it speeds the process if you have the data regarding registration district and volume and page plus the quarter of registration.
