Hello, I'm trying to find any reference to my ancestors, Richard Fitzell born in 1873, his wife Margret or Margreth, and their 10 children, at least two of their sons, Richard and Thomas moved to Ruislip, Middlesex, England. Also looking for information on Michael Bovenizer and his wife Margreth.

  • Eammon:

The only Richard Fitzell in the 1901 census was living in Dublin with his married sister and his brother in law. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Rotunda/Upper_D…

This Richard was born in Co. Kerry.

I found a 1911 census record for likely the same Richard who is now married to a Kathleen not a Margaret so maybe I have the wrong Richard.

Regarding Michael Bovenizer, I believe I found the proper family in Co. Kerry. Also found a second family that may be related in Co. Down. The head of household was a Methodist minister.

  • Hi Roger, thanks for the quick reply and info. I shall look into them. The Bovinzier one is a bit different, because it is such an unusual (Irish) name, I will have to check that out further.

  • Hi Eamonn

I believe this is my family you are looking for - Michael & Margaret Bovenizer were my great grandparents - my grandmother was Margaret Ann Bovenizer and she married William Fitzell, who was a brother of Richard Fitzell, the man found in both census.  He was married to a Kathleen Poff, not a Margret, do you think this is the same person? I’m afraid I don’t know anything about his sons bar what is in the 1911 census, but I do have a photograph of him if you are interested, also if there is any other information on the family you would like, please let me know.

    Regards,

  • Hi Shirley.

Thanks for the info, I don't think that is the Richard Fitzell I was researching, as he was married to Susan Gault.
