I am descended from Mary Sullivan, daughter of Patrick Sullivan and Mary Shea, born 25 May 1871. She and her brother Eugene emigrated and settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They had 7 other brothers: Barry, Timothy, Michael b.1866, Patrick b. 1869, John b. 1874, Daniel b. 1879, and Denis b. 1885. I would love to know what happened to her parents and brothers. There must be descendants of these brothers somewhere over there. I have been searching for 20 years and it is impossible for me to find the "correct" Patrick and Mary Sullivan! I have gone through all of the records on irishgenealogy.ie and, aside from what I have listed, cannot tell if any of them belong to me. I can't find marriage records for any of the brothers that I can be sure are mine. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I also have Golden, Kelly and O'Connor from the parish of Caherciveen.

Apologies for the very long delay in answering your message. Have you learned any more about the above?
Best wishes

Clare,
No, I have found nothing new in the newly released church records. I am hoping to connect with descendants of any of Mary's brothers who are still in the area. It is impossible to trace marriages because there are no ages or parents names listed to be sure you have the right Sullivan!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am glad to see this new website. Maybe that will help.
Thank you,
Marge

Hi Marge
Unfortunately the first names and surnames are quite common!
You could try to concentrate of one of the siblings and work from there (assuming they didn't all emigrate). There is a YouTube video here that is interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuYzGSIxF-c
You could also write to the staff in Kerry Library as they will have more local contacts (we don't yet have a volunteer in the area): http://www.kerrylibrary.ie/local-history-amp-archives.html
