After a brick wall lasting 15 years I've finally found my GGgrandfather, James Meenaghan. I thought finding his wife would be easy but I've been through every Christian name I can think of but have been unable to locate her.

I even extracted every Meenaghan death in Mayo from 1810 to 1893 but still no luck. Am I correct in thinking that there has to be a record of her death somewhere. So why can't I find her. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer.

Here's GGGrandfather's death particulars.

Civil registration for deaths started in 1864. In my experience not all deaths were registered in the early years particularly in rural areas

Is it possible that the wife of James died prior to 1864? Were there any children born 1864 or later?
