Kia ora from New Zealand
I am trying to trace my great grand father Jeremiah Nolan who was born around 1850, married Mary Mahoney in February 1870 and immigrated to New Zealand in1875. Evidently Jeremiah was a labour living in Glensharold when they were married and Mary worked at the "Park". Her father was called Michael. They came to New Zealandon the ship Aldergrove arrived on the 25th July 1975.
I am visitinh Ireland in Arpil 2014 and would just like to visit the area where they came from.
If any one has any infor I would be very grateful.
thanks Dale

I have emailed the parish contact person in Kilcolman to check on any marriage info for Jeremiah Nolan and Mary Mahoney. I also asked her to check for info regarding Jeremiah's birth - names of parents, date, etc.
Hopefully I will have an answer early next week.
Best wishes,

A gentle suggestion, Dale - a more specific Subject Title will get you better replies. We are all "searching for family." A better title would be "Jeremiah Nolan marr Kilcolman 1870." Or "Marriage: Jer. Nolan/Mary Mahoney 1870 Kilcolman." Your subject title is what is going to hook someone in to help you. They will say to themselves, "I know of a Jer. Nolan in Kilcolman. . ." Unfortunately, many people just delete messages with vague subject titles. . .

Hi Dale,
I rec'd this reply from the IrelandXO team in Kilcolman. I hope this info is helpful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got a chance to look at the records today and the following are the only enteries in regards to Jerm Nolan for around the date you gave me:
Marriage Record
1870/02/01
Groom: Nolan Jemh
Bride: Mariam Mahoney
Witness’s: John Dealy and Thos Mulqueen
~~~~~~~~~~
Baptismal Record
1862/09/07
Baby: Nolan Jemh
Parents: Jemh Nolan/Jannett Taylor
Witnesses: Richard Taylor and Ellen Taylor.
As you can see the date of the baptismal record does not match the person in the marriage record but the above are the only Jemh I can see on the records are the above entries.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope it's of some help.
Regards,
Patti
