  • Two-mile bridge is just a geographical  location, the townland is called Shankill. during the famine when the road was being constructed, the bridge was just two miles fron Dungarvan town.

  • Sorry, I couldn't be more help to you Helen. There are still Dunn families close enough. The Connery's are an interesting name. I suspect that you have heard of the Connery brothers from Bohadoon who were sent to new south Wales. Well, it is believed that all the Connery's in this area are related.

if you visit my Blog site, www.abbeysideheritagearchive.blogspot.com

you will find an Article which I wrote about another branch of this famous family.

  • Eddie,

I had never heard of the Connery brothers until I came across a book by Brendan Kiely. I was able to purchase a used copy online.

I have many Waterford ancestors both maternal and paternal. I am always on the hunt for books about the county. I have Kilrossanty and Fenoagh roots also. I was able to get a copy of a book about the Comeragh's by Sile and Sean Murphy that I found helpful.

I am related to Crotty's in Kilrossanty, I still haven't figured out if they are related to the famous William Crotty!

I will check your blog, thanks again.
