I am trying to find out the following information. My mother, Jean(jeannie) Farry, daughter of Frank Farry bore a son,Francis, out of wedlock in June 1932.My mother moved to England and left Francis in the care of an Aunt, ( I'm thinking somewhere in the Lisneski area). With the help of a parish priest he was the taken into a childrens home. In subsequent years he moved to join his mother and myself (his brother) in England and from then on enjoyed a normal family relationship. I am trying to find out if there are any birth records for Francis and possibly if there was a recorded father. Jean died 8  years ago and Francis 2 years ago. His children have no documentation relating to his early life. Can anyone help?

donc

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I looked for a civil birth index record for a Francis Farry (and variants) and did not see a record near 1932 in Co. Tyrone. You probably should contact the church for a possible baptismal record.

  • Statutory birth records post 1922 in Northern Ireland are not searchable on-line.  For a birth in June 1932, you need to contact GRONI in Belfast and ask them to search for the birth. There may be a search fee in addition to the fee for the certificate.
