Can anyone help me please? I am trying to verify if the Peter and Jane Lawless were the parents of my G G Grandfather Francis Lawless who was baptised on the 6 March 1786 in Navan Co Meath? I also have tehm having two other sons, Michael born 1790 and Thos born 1792. My Francis was sentenced in Dublin court in 1807 and transported to Australia on the Boyd in 1809. I would like information about the court proceedings and sentence if possible and anything that validates that they are on one and same person. I have much information about his life as a convict bricklayer, his marriage to Catherine Kearns in 1816, the children of this marriage and his work designing many buildings in the colony before being granted land in Gunning NSW where some of  the family remains today. I am trying to find out what Francis's trade was before his conviction, what induced him to crime and if his siblings remained in iredland? Any information would be most appreciated. With thanks Carmel Peek (Australia)

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Below is a transcription of the baptismal record for Francis and yes his parents were Peter Lawless and Jane Bronogue. You are very fortunate that the Navan records go back so far. There are also records for a John in 1782, Anne 1784 and Michael in 1790. Here is a link to the Navan parish register.http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0955
