Here are families that I have identified as having been from the Cloughjordan parish and lived in London, Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada and nearby areas of Biddulph & Caradoc in Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada. Maybe the information will be helpful to someone researching these lines.
1. John Costello b. 1792 and wife Mary Howe b. 1806 - Had son Patrick Costello baptized Mar 9, 1837 and born in Forty Acres with the sponsor Patrick Gleeson. Other children born in Ireland without having located a baptismal record: Bridget b. 1835; Margaret b. 1836; Catherine b. 1838. Family immigrated to Caradoc in Middlesex Co., Ontario, Canada circa 1840.
2. John O'Neil b. 1823 and wife Catherine Quirk b. 1830 - Had son John Neil baptized Feb 4, 1845 with no birth location given, but in Cloughjordan parish. Sponsors were Roddy Tierney & Biddy Tierney. Family lived in Biddulph, Ontario, Canada before moving to Dixon Co., Nebraska in 1870.
3. Patrick Ryder b. circa 1803 and wife Anne Meara - Had 2 children baptized in Cloughjordan parish - 1. Patrick baptized May 9, 1834 with no address given, but sponsors were Hugh Kennedy & Rachel Ryder; 2. Anne baptized Feb 20, 1839 in Ballynavin with sponsors Rody Mara & Catherine Mara. Family lived in Biddulph, Ontario
4. James Ryder (believed to possibly be brother to Patrick above) and wife Hanora Hurley had 2 children baptized - 1. Daniel baptized Aug 29, 1833 in Ballynavin with sponsors Michael Carty & Mary Hurley; 2. John baptized May 10, 1840 in Ballynavin with sponsors Edward Kennedy & Margaret Kennedy. Family lived in Biddulph, Ontario.
5. John Loughnane b. circa 1800 and wife Mary Dewan b. circa 1799 - Had son Patrick baptized on Sep 5, 1838 in Kilruane with sponsors Thomas Dwan & Mary Cleary. Son John was born circa Mar 17, 1837 but no baptismal record has been found. But, John married Annie Tracy on Feb 9, 1861 in Kilruane and had 5 children born in Ireland before immigrating to London, Ontario, Canada. Those 5 children were: 1. Mary b. 1862; 2. John b. 1863; 3. Patrick b. 1865; 4. Bernard b. 1867; 5. Bridget b. 1870. Patrick baptized in 1838 marries in London, Ontario in 1870 to Sarah Dewan b. 1843 Canada. Sarah was the daughter of Patrick Dewan & Catherine Ward (of Co. Tipperary - specific location unknown).
Hope this helps someone.
Sincerely,
Susan O'Meara

My pleasure Clare. The more us researchers learn on our family, the better chance we all have of filling in some gaps in our tree!
Since my family was also in the Cloughjordan parish and settled in the same part of Canada as these folks, you never know what you might learn in the future by sharing information.
Sincerely,
Susan O'Meara

Thanks Susan for the information on the Loughane family in Kilruane . I am interested in a Hugh loughnane from Kilruane who married a Judith Gleeson and immigrated to Australia 1856 . Records of baptisms in Cloughjordan only commenced in 1830s I think mid 1830s

The information you posted on the Loughnane brothers who emigrated to Canada has proved very useful .A descendant of John Loughnane, based in Chicago, came to Cloughjordan recently tracing his ancestors .He did not know that John had a brother Patrick who also emigrated to Ontario, Canada and was delighted when we gave him your information.
Many Thanks
