My grandmother was a Cragin and her father's name, Jeremiah Cragin, also was the name of her grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.I n 1853, her great grandfather came to Maine, United States.  I am trying to find out more about the ancestral family in Ireland.  I have found a copy of Griffith's Evaluation, Lord Monteagle land, in Clashganniff. It lists a  Jeremiah Cragin.  Would it be possible to find any ancestral birth, marraige and death records from this information? Thank you.

    Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!

I think the surname in Ireland was Cregan. The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilcolman civil parish shows a Jeremiah Cregan in Clashganniff townland.  http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/limerick/kilmoylan.htm   However, there are also two other Jeremiah Cregans in the same parish. Not sure if there were three separate Jeremiahs or one with three land holdings?  Here is the link to the RC parish register for Shanagolden church. You should go through the register and see what records you find.

I did check Roots Ireland from 1830-1850 and did find a Michael Cregan in 1845, father Jeremiah. There was also a record for his siter Ellen in 1847. Mother was Maria Walsh. Not sure how these records connect with your family. Transcription of Michael's record is below.
