Martin McCarty

Hello to everyone. I'm searching for the birthplace and home of my great great grandfather. His name was Martin McCarty and he was born in 1799. I can recall as child of probably 7-10 years old, conversations that my Irish grandparents had concerning Westmeath. In 1849 Martin came to the United States, with his two son's, Morgan was the oldest as he was born in either 1937-1838. Jeremiah was the younger and was born in 1842. Martin was married, however his wife had died shortly before they came to the U.S. We do not know the name of Martin's wife or where she was from. Upon arriving in the U.S. Martin went directly to Washington County Ohio where he purchased land and began farming. The area of Washington County where Martin lived was very near a small country community named Churchtown. St. John's catholic church can be seen for miles around Churchtown, and tes this community is named Churchtown because of this beautiful church. In the cemetery beside the church there are many McCarty graves along with many other graves with Irish names. Is it possible that these Irish people names the community after Churchtown in Westmeath? I waould like to come to Ireland but I would like to know where Martin is from in Ireland, so that I could visit that location.
