I have the baptism of James Gray, 9 Jul 1840, son of Partick Gray and Rose MCabe. Place: Glebe, Cloone, Leitrim.
Patrick and Rose Gray emigrated to the US 29 June 1846 on the Ship Brilliant, with 2 children: Catherine 1 (my great grandmother), and their son Michael, 4. Son James was not with them; I assumed he died. Another son, James was born in 1859; they had 5 other children. They settled in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, as did the Lynches from Roscommon. William Lynch married Catherine Gray in 1868. (There were 8 other McCabes on the ship Brilliant in 1846).

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The Cloone RC church has death records from 1823 until September 1845. They resumed in 1850. I checked on Roots Ireland and could not find the record. Possibly James died between September 1845 and the following June. Feel free to search the register. http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632400#page/5/mode/1up
How else can we assist you?
