Hi,
I'm researching a Mulligan family that is listed on the 1821 census as being in the townland of Dermagin, which is said to be in the Parish of Killmore, Upper Loughtee, Cavan.
I cannot find that townland listed on any other census. I think it was misspelled, but I've been through the list of townlands and cannot determine which is the correct one. Is there a listing of townlands with their correct spellings anywhere?
Thanking you in advance,
Cathy

Cathy:
Welcome back!
There are probably a couple sites but here is a link to the site I use for townlands. Possibly the townland you are looking for is Derrynagan. http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/index.html

I just looked at the actual census image http://census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/c19/007246490/007246490_00031.p… and it looks like Derinagin not Dermagin as it was transcribed.
